Recently I had the opportunity to travel into the heart of the picturesque Catskill Mountains and experience, first hand, all the amenities that the incredible Shandelee Lake Inn has to offer. With a wide range of entreating activities and inviting rustic facilities, Shandelee Lake Inn is set in the quaint town of Livingston Manor, my stay was the relaxing and revitalizing experience I sorely needed and thoroughly enjoyed.
As always, chef Ettore Mazzei, the artistic innovator behind Chez Vous Catering, provided an array of delicious dishes, which included a made-to-order omelet station for breakfast, traditional barbecue mainstays such as hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch, and delectable salmon and chicken courses in the evening, for dinner.
In the time spent not eating, I took full advantage of the facilities. Luckily, favorable weather made it possible to swim in the Olympic-size swimming pool, right before enjoying a soak in the soothing hot tub. One of my personal favorite features of the inn, however, was the antique record player, accompanied by an eclectic collection of both classic rock and classical records. For those patrons looking to satisfy a more competitive nature, the Shandelee Lake Inn also houses table-top entertainment including ping-pong, Foosball, shuffleboard, and billiards; aside from such activities as Wiffleball, Baci Ball, Volleyball, and horseshoes. Then, star-gazing from the immense wooden deck, or nestling up beside a warm campfire are the ideal way to end an evening.
Finally, you cannot discuss a getaway to the Shandelee Lake Inn, in the Catskill Mountains, without mentioning the lake and surrounding wilderness. Were it not for the many different ways guests may enjoy the lake, the mesmerizing view of the lake, alone would be enough to ensure a return trip. Luckily, though, the lake also offers boating. Also, wilderness enthusiasts may enjoy the scenic hiking trails surrounding the property, when not out on the water. After all, Shandelee Lake Inn is located in Livingston Manor, a bustling community with many interesting features and activities of its own to enjoy.
So, be it the lake, the grounds, the trails, or the surrounding community, the Shandelee Lake Inn is one vacation destination that will never leave you wanting for excitement. I certainly plan on visiting again because there is simply too much to enjoy in only one stay. That is why at the Shandelee Lake Inn, whatever you’re looking for, it’s there!
